Introduction

Payment Terms

Payment terms are as follows:

  • Deposit: 30% of total cost payable upon contract acceptance
  • Progress payment: 40% payable when materials are delivered to site
  • Final payment: 30% payable upon satisfactory completion of works

Payment may be made by bank transfer or cheque. Cash payments above £500 cannot be accepted.

Late Payment

Final payment is due within 7 days of completion. Late payment may incur interest charges at 4% above Bank of England base rate.

Project Timeline

We provide estimated project timelines in good faith. Timelines are subject to:

  • Weather conditions suitable for external work
  • Materials delivery from suppliers
  • Building control inspections
  • Unforeseen site complications

We will inform you promptly of any delays and provide revised timelines. Delays do not entitle cancellation unless the delay exceeds 60 days beyond the original estimated completion date.

Access and Site Conditions

You must provide:

  • Clear access to the conservatory
  • Space for materials storage
  • Access to electricity and water if required
  • Notification of any site hazards

You remain responsible for securing your property. We are not liable for theft or damage to items not directly related to the works.

Building Regulations and Planning

We will notify building control as required for conservatory roof replacement works. You remain responsible for ensuring any necessary planning permissions are obtained. We can advise on requirements but do not provide planning consultancy services.

Changes to Works

Changes to specified works must be agreed in writing. Variations may affect cost and timeline. We will provide written confirmation of any cost changes before proceeding with varied works.

Warranties and Guarantees

We provide warranties covering:

  • Workmanship: 10 years from completion
  • Materials: As per manufacturer warranties (typically 10-25 years)

Warranties are subject to:

  • Proper use and maintenance of the roof
  • Payment in full
  • Prompt notification of any defects

Warranties do not cover damage from misuse, alteration, or failure to maintain.

Liability

We maintain appropriate insurance cover. Our liability is limited to:

  • Direct damage caused by our negligence during works
  • Defects in workmanship covered by warranty

We are not liable for:

  • Pre-existing defects not identified during survey
  • Damage from events beyond our control
  • Consequential losses
  • Issues arising from failure to maintain the roof

Cancellation

By You

You may cancel within 14 days of contract acceptance (cooling-off period) for full refund of deposit, provided works have not commenced. After commencement or after 14 days, cancellation incurs charges for:

  • Materials ordered or purchased
  • Work completed to date
  • Administrative costs

By Us

We may cancel the contract if:

  • You fail to make required payments
  • You fail to provide necessary access
  • Site conditions make safe work impossible
  • Necessary permissions are refused

Cancellation by us due to your breach does not entitle refund of payments made.

Complaints

We aim to resolve any concerns promptly. If you have a complaint:

  1. Contact us in writing describing the issue
  2. We will acknowledge within 3 working days
  3. We will investigate and respond within 14 days
  4. If unresolved, we will arrange an independent inspection

Data Protection

We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and UK data protection legislation. Your information is used solely for providing services and fulfilling contractual obligations.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
